Chamblee Cancer Treatment & Research Center
Cancer treatment at UT Health Northeast offers hope for patients
The UT Health Northeast Chamblee Cancer Treatment and Research Center is an excellent example of how your donations to UT Health Northeast can take root to make a profoundly positive impact on the lives and families of those who battle life-threatening diseases.
The center, in fact, was born of philanthropy with a generous gift made in 2003 from the estate of C.G. “Red” and Emmaline Chamblee. In memory of their son, the Chamblees’ donation was also made by to honor UTHSC physicians and staff for the exceptional care they gave to their family.
And today, this philanthropic donation continues to blossom at UT Health Northeast with a state-of-the-art oncology treatment and research center that provides patients with the latest cancer therapies in a compassionate and comfortable environment. We offer integrated treatment of cancer and hematology disorders, as well as education and cancer prevention programs.
Led by the accomplished Coty Ho, M.D., UT Health Northeast’s chief of medical oncology, our oncology team combines leading-edge cancer therapies with the delivery of excellent patient care.
Dr. Ho is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and completed his medical oncology fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine’s Sydney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore. He believes that knowledge, compassion and open communication between patients and physicians are vital to providing the best cancer treatment possible.
The Chamblee Cancer and Research Center’s goal is to offer patients excellent care and specialized therapies for cancer, especially lung cancer, drawing upon UT Health Northeast’s national reputation for expertise in treating lung diseases.
