The purpose of the Council on Corporate Culture is to improve communication, collaboration, and commitment among employees at UT Health Science Center. The committee works to develop and enhance employee morale; create a culture of discipline, fairness, diversity, and equal opportunity; identify strategies to improve patient satisfaction; and represent the view of the employee in matters of policy and procedure, advancement, pay and equity, and performance appraisals issues.

A Message from the Chairperson:
I’m excited about the opportunity to serve as the Chair of the Council on Corporate Culture. The CCC works on issues that concern employees, and we have been able to accomplish many changes using their input and suggestions. CCC’s goal is to continue the process and encourage employees to contact their CCC Representative via e-mail, phone, or in person with issues you feel need to be addressed by the Council. Please remember the CCC is here to serve employees and to make UTHSCT a better and happier place by improving communication, collaboration, and commitment. Together we can all make this happen.
- Dora Ojeda, Chair

Words from the Past Chair of the CCC:
It has been my pleasure to serve these past two years as Chair of the CCC, and I appreciate the trust and confidence that Dr. Calhoun placed in me. When he initially approached me to serve as the first chair and to be responsible for establishing and implementing the CCC, I was excited and nervous. Dr. Calhoun is very supportive and committed to the success of the CCC. As with anything new, we met with some resistance in the beginning, but over time most people have recognized that the CCC is a benefit to the Health Science Center and its employees. I am very proud of the achievements of the CCC during these past two years. I believe every employee understands that the CCC provides them access to Dr. Calhoun and plays a role in the decision-making processes at UTHSCT.

The CCC is on solid footing now and is about to have a majority of new members who have been nominated by their co-workers. I feel Dr. Calhoun made a great selection in choosing Dora Ojeda to serve as the next chair. I have faith that she will take the CCC to the next level and will lead the membership to even greater accomplishments. The best is yet to come from our CCC, and I am grateful to have been a part of it from the beginning.
- Dexter E. Jones, Chair 2003-2005 | Office of Public Affairs
