Daniel Deslatte - Vice President, Planning & Public Policy
As Associate Vice President of Planning & Public Policy, Mr. Deslatte is responsible for strategic planning, monitoring key performance indicators, and providing analysis necessary to meet the goals of the institution’s strategic plan. The Office of Planning shares joint responsibility for institutional effectiveness with the Office of Academic Affairs. Mr. Deslatte also advises executive leadership on public policy at the state and federal levels.
Prior to joining UT Health Northeast, Mr. Deslatte spent nearly a decade in senior-level positions in the Texas Legislature, including chief of staff to a senior member of the House of Representatives and as the director of a joint House-Senate committee responsible with oversight of Texas’ health and human services system. Mr. Deslatte also was named the health and human services policy advisor to a House caucus, where he advised legislators on health policy, human services, Medicaid and the state’s $54 billion health and human services budget.
Mr. Deslatte is a fellow with the National Association of Public Hospitals, a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and has previously served on the advisory board of a nonprofit organization that helps find permanent homes for children in foster care.
