Sara Shepherd, M.A.M.S. Associate Director of Academic Administration for Institutional Research
Ms. Shepherd has spent 38 years in data collection, analysis, and reporting primarily in biomedical research. She joined The University of Texas Health Science Center (UT Health Northeast) in April of 1987 where she has gained experience in working with both student and patient cohorts.
Ms. Shepherd earned a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics in 1971 from Rice University and a Master of Applied Mathematical Sciences (MAMS) in 1973 from Rice University.
Prior to joining UT Health Northeast, Ms. Shepherd worked both in private industry and at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she was responsible for developing software for management of student data, biomedical research, and medical practices.
At UT Health Northeast, Ms. Shepherd has worked in the Departments of Epidemiology, Biomathematics, and Occupational Health Science before joining Academic Administration in February 2012. She continues her affiliation with the Department of Occupational Health Sciences as she oversees establishment of Institutional Research and the development of academic reporting to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, UT System, Department of Education, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and other agencies.
