Our institution exists to provide East Texas with excellent patient care, comprehensive education, and innovative research, and we invite you to learn more about us through this web site. National and state initiatives to increase the number of graduates in higher education, particularly in science, technology, education, and math fields, further support our goal to provide the Northeast Texas region with degree opportunities in science.

Schools and Degree Programs

Hands-on laboratory experience in an academic health science center setting allows our students to learn state-of-the-art techniques and gain the latest knowledge in the field directly from world-class, NIH-funded scientists and faculty. The campus is designed to provide the context for an exceptionally rich and vibrant research-based educational experience that will allow graduates to enter the work force prepared for exciting careers in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, graduate studies at the PhD level, or medical school.

Academic Resources
Students entering a degree program at UT Health Northeast are provided an array of academic resources that support them during the time they enter, complete, and exit the program. The goal of all faculty and staff in support of degree programs is to support students through exceptional services. Academic Administration provides oversight of academic resources at UT Health Northeast.

Student Affairs
Student Affairs helps ensure that students have access to resources for admission to a degree program, registration, and financial assistance, well-being and health while enrolled, orientation to services provided, advising to maximize the educational outcomes of the program, career planning, counseling, and disability services.

Library
The medical research library housed on the campus of UT Health Northeast serves the entire Northeast Texas Region. The library supports students in degree programs and in graduate medical education, faculty, staff, and the broader community.

Medical Education

Medical Education is one of the core missions of the UT Health Northeast. The Department of Medical Education plays a vital role in UT Health Northeast’s mission to "serve East Texas and beyond through excellent patient care and community health, comprehensive education, and innovative research" by providing oversight of all medical training. Medical education is offered through the following units of the institution:

  • The Graduate Medical Education Office is dedicated to training medical graduates in programs that meet or exceed the ACGME guidelines for its General Outcomes Project.
  • The Continuing Medical Education program provides high quality educational activities designed to enhance physicians’ commitment to lifelong learning and promote evidence-based and cost-effective healthcare.

Community Education

One of the priorities of our institution is to inform the public and serve the community in the East Texas region. A variety of programs are offered by highly specialized professionals to improve public health, increase the likelihood of a safe and healthy workplace, and provide hands-on experience for those in health-related fields.
