The Department of Medical Education is responsible for all continuing medical education (CME) activities. The mission of the Health Science Center's CME program is to provide high quality educational activities designed to enhance physicians' commitment to lifelong learning.

The ultimate goal is to promote and further the practice of evidence-based and cost-effective healthcare in keeping with the Health Science Center's mission to provide excellent patient care.

PALS Provider Course
Friday, February 26 - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 27 - 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This course is designed in accordance with the American Heart Association guidelines to teach the knowledge and skills necessary to provide pediatric advanced life support.

The PALS Provider Course is a two-day course limited to physicians, nurses, paramedics and allied healthcare providers who serve the pediatric population and are taking the course for the first time. Participants must be proficient in BLS Healthcare Provider skills. The East Texas PALS Program requires that LVNs take the 2-day provider course, and strongly encourages all healthcare providers that do not routinely utilize their PALS training to take the provider course.

Participants must be proficient in BLS Healthcare Provider skills.

NOTE: Class size is limited and our courses fill quickly. Space cannot be reserved without the completed registration form and fee. in order to allow adequate time for advance preparation, pre-registration/pre-payment is required two weeks prior to course date. Study packets will be mailed upon receipt of registration and fee. $25 cancellation fee if cancel prior to 2 weeks before the course if materials are returned unopened. NO REFUNDS after that date.

HeartCode Renewal

The PALS HeartCode Renewal Course is a partial day renewal course. Participants must complete all of the online part 1 components prior to attending this live component. Access to online part 1 included in cost. Live part 2 consists of the required skills/case scenario check offs. Class size limited.
