Find out your risk of heart disease at Feb. 14 Town Hall Meeting at Ornelas Center

Valentine’s Day is a good time to learn how to love your heart by keeping it healthy. The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler is celebrating the holiday with a free seminar, free cholesterol screenings, and information about how to prevent heart disease.

Free screenings will be offered from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Ornelas Activity Center, 3402 Old Omen Road. Dudley Goulden, MD, a UTHSCT cardiologist, will present “Heart Disease is the No. 1 Killer of Americans. Are You at Risk?” from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Ornelas Center. UT Health Science Center at Tyler is sponsoring the Valentine’s Day event.

February is American Heart Month, a perfect time to learn about the risk factors and warning signs of heart disease. Attending this timely event is an easy way to help you and your loved ones live longer, stronger lives.

Town Hall Meetings are educational sessions held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Ornelas Activity Center, which is operated by UT Health Science Center at Tyler. The sessions are designed to provide timely information on topics of interest to senior citizens.
