UT Health Center’s ’Aging Well 2006’ on March 29 will show how to maintain your health and vitality as you age

Learn how to age well at a free event sponsored by The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler on Wednesday, March 29, at the Ornelas Activity Center, 3402 Old Omen Road in Tyler.

Your questions on how to maintain your health and vitality as you age will be answered at “Aging Well 2006,” presented by UTHSCT’s Center for Healthy Aging, Special Events Coordinator Dexter Jones said. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. and continues until 2 p.m. Booths with information on healthy aging will be available, and pharmacists will be on hand to discuss the medications and supplements that you take, as well as how to prevent drug interactions.

From 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., UTHSCT offers two seminars. Kent Davis, MD, will present “Living Better, Not Just Longer.” Dr. Davis is the director of the Center for Healthy Aging. Then, Nurse Practitioner Karen Appleberry, RN, will present “Oh, My Aching Joints!” Appleberry is also with the Center for Healthy Aging.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided by Aventis Pharmaceuticals. Seating is limited, and registration is recommended.
