UTHCT vice president inducted into UTMB School of Nursing Alumni Association Hall of Fame

Patricia Blair, Ph.D., JD, vice president and university counsel at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Alumni Association of The University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing in Galveston.
Dr. Blair was one of six women inducted into the Hall of Fame for 2006. She attended the induction ceremony, which was held March 24 in Galveston.
Dr. Blair received a master of science in nursing from UTMB in 1984. She received her doctorate in clinical sciences and health services research from UTMB’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Blair has a master’s of law degree in health law and policy from the University of Houston School of Law. She received her general law degree from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Dr. Blair received her bachelor of science in nursing from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
She has 30 years’ experience in clinical nursing and nursing education. Dr. Blair held the rank of major in the U.S. Army Reserve, providing in-service education for Army nurses, until her honorable discharge in 2000.
The Hall of Fame honors alumni who have made significant contributions to nursing through commitment to excellence in patient care, community service, and nursing leadership. The Alumni Association Board of Directors selects Hall of Fame honorees.
