Free health screenings, cloggers, bands, gospel singers, and classic cars are just part of the fun-filled lineup for the 2006 Healthy Family Affair from 8 a.m. –
1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 271 and State Highway 155.

Free health screenings for body mass index, blood pressure, blood sugar, total cholesterol, and lung function will be offered at the second annual Healthy Family Affair. There also will be drawings for a limited number of free advanced health screenings.

UT Health Science Center specialists will discuss how to get a good night’s sleep, how to avoid heart disease, and how to have a healthy menopause. Dr. David DiPaulo, host of “Fitness over Forty” will be the master of ceremonies at the fair.

Bring your kids to enjoy free fun activities such as face painting, miniature train rides, classic cars, and bounce houses. There will be trained therapy dogs – and a therapy pony – from Therapet.
