Do you sleep as well as you did years ago? If you’d like to learn how to get the most out of your sleep again, come to a free Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, April 5, at the Ornelas Activity Center, 3402 Old Omen Road in Tyler.

“Sleep Disorders in Older Adults” will help you recognize when sleep is a problem and show you what to do about snoring and sleep apnea, said Dexter Jones, special events coordinator for The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. The Health Center sponsors the monthly Town Hall Meetings.

James Stocks, MD, and Varsha Taskar, MD, pulmonologists with UTHSCT’s Center for Sleep Disorders, also will discuss excessive movements during sleep and the relationship between sleeping pills and safety, Jones said.

Free sleep screenings will be offered from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The seminar begins at 10:45 a.m. and ends at 11:45 a.m. CPAP demonstrations also will be offered.

Town Hall Meetings are monthly educational sessions at the Ornelas Activity Center, which is operated by UT Health Science Center at Tyler. The sessions are designed to provide timely information on topics of interest to senior citizens.

Pre-registration is not required. For more information, call (903) 877-5122.
