The new University Health Clinic at Tyler will hold an open house at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at 3310 Patriot Drive, near the corner of University Boulevard and Patriot Drive on the campus of the University of Texas at Tyler.

Open to the public, The University Health Clinic is a collaboration between The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler and UT Tyler. The Health Center operates two services – the University Physician Associates Clinic and the UT Tyler Student Health Clinic.

The UPA Clinic offers services in family medicine, allergy care, rheumatology, and sports medicine, as well as services provided by the Center for Healthy Aging. The 10,000-square-foot clinic has 10 exam rooms, including a procedure room. Allergy testing, radiology, and laboratory services are provided on site. The UT Tyler Student Health Clinic is available to serve the Health Care needs of the students enrolled at UT Tyler.

“We are very excited to be opening the new University Health Clinic. UTHSCT specialists, primary care physicians, and nursing personnel will be working to provide increased medical services to this community and to the growing number of students on UT Tyler’s campus,” UTHSCT President Dr. Kirk A. Calhoun said.

UT Tyler President Dr. Rodney Mabry echoed those thoughts. “There has always been a special relationship between our two institutions and this clinic is just another fine example of that good relationship. UT Tyler is happy to let our sister institution use a piece of our property to help us with our critical student health care needs and also have an opportunity to consolidate their South Tyler operations.”
