Cardiologist joins UT Health Center

James J. Galizia, MD, has joined the Division of Cardiology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler as an assistant professor of medicine.

Before coming to the Health Center, Dr. Galizia was in private practice in Long Island, NY. He was associated with Austin Diagnostic Clinic in Austin, Texas, from 2001 to 2004 and with Shannon Clinic in San Angelo, Texas, from 1997 to 2001. He also served as director of community health and wellness at the Shannon Health System from 1997 to 1999.

Dr. Galizia is board certified in internal medicine and in cardiovascular diseases. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Galizia completed cardiology fellowships at the University of Southern California and Yale University, Norwalk Hospital. He served his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College, where he also received his medical degree.
