The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler has joined with Azalea Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic, PA, to provide orthopedic services at UTHSCT, said UTHSCT President Dr. Kirk A. Calhoun.
Holly Adams, UTHSCT’s administrator of clinic operations, said, “We want our patients to have convenient access to orthopedic care on our campus. We also feel that having orthopedic outpatient services is an important benefit for our Center for Healthy Aging.”
Kim Foreman, MD, is holding a clinic at UTHSCT each Tuesday afternoon. The clinic is located next to Extended Medical Services on the first floor of the D Building.
“This is another example of UTHSCT partnering with excellent physicians such as those at Azalea Orthopedic to provide the best care possible to our patients,” Adams said.
Dr. Foreman said, “I can evaluate and treat patients with fractures, joint pain from injuries, and arthritis, as well as hand, wrist, knee and shoulder problems. While the majority of treatment will be office-based, there is the capability of performing some outpatient surgical procedures at UTHSCT.”
Dr. Foreman is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Texas Society of Sports Medicine. He has been with Azalea Orthopedic since 2001. Before that, he was with East Texas Orthopedics and Sports Medicine for seven years. From 1988 through 1994, he was a professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Foreman is a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He served his residency in orthopedic surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He had subspecialty training at the San Diego Knee and Sports Medicine Fellowship in San Diego, Calif.
