Board certified UTHCT lung specialist now seeing patients

David B. Coultas, MD, chairman of the Department of Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler and a specialist in diseases that affect the lungs, is now seeing patients in the Harold G. Habenicht Women’s Center at Laird Memorial Hospital, 1612 S. Henderson Blvd. in Kilgore.

Board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease, Dr. Coultas specializes in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, and occupational lung disease. Dr. Coultas, a pulmonologist, is with University Physician Associates, a physician practice associated with UT Health Science Center.

Before coming to the Health Center in August 2005, Dr. Coultas was professor and associate chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center in Jacksonville, Fla. He has significant research experience in COPD.

Dr. Coultas sees patients who have been referred to him by their primary care doctors, as well as patients who need a pulmonary consultation. He is available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday at Laird Memorial Hospital in Kilgore.
