Pediatrician Dr. Lanessa Bass and allergist Dr. Benoit Tano join UT Health Center

Two physicians have recently joined The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. Lanessa D. Bass, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics, and Benoit D. Tano, MD, is an associate professor of allergy/immunology.

Dr. Bass is board certified in pediatrics and received her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, practicing at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Bass, who was reared in Hawkins, Texas, also was named chief resident during her training. Her special interests include medical education for residents and parents.

Dr. Tano is board certified in internal medicine. Before joining the Health Center, he completed a Clinical Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Asthma and Allergy Center, in Baltimore. Dr. Tano completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

He received his medical degree from the School of Medicine at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Tano also has a Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Albany in econometrics and was an associate professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Toledo.
