The Media Services Department at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler has received an Award of Excellence in the 2007 Videographer Awards competition.

UTHSCT’s winning entry was “Where Discovery and Healing Come Together,” a DVD that focuses on groundbreaking research at the Health Center.

To receive this award, the judges had to determine that a project was written, produced, shot, and edited in an exceptional manner.

Of the roughly 2,000 entries from the United States and several other countries entered in this year’s competition, approximately 14 percent received an Award of Excellence.

The 10-year-old international competition recognizes outstanding achievement in video productions. It is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.

This association consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and free-lance professionals.

The AMCP Advisory Board oversees this competition, providing judges and setting standards of excellence.

Members of UTHSCT’s Media Services Department who produced the DVD are Scott Berkley, director; Garry McDugle, producer; and Steven Day, Web specialist.
