OVERTON -- The UTHSCT Overton Family Practice Center now offers digital radiology services, which provide convenience for patients due to the accessibility and reproducibility of X-rays.

With this new technology, Dr. Leo Holm can instantly review the digital X-ray on a computer screen to determine what action to take. For example, if an abnormality is found, he can evaluate it. If patients need to see a specialist, they can have the X-ray downloaded onto a disk to take with them. In addition, the X-ray is electronically transmitted to The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler for a formal report that will be available to the patient and Dr. Holm the next day.

“ The patients do not have to leave town for fast results. The ability to burn CDs with X-rays for patients to take with them is fantastic. These services bring advanced technology to a small town, which many larger towns can’t offer. The Health Center’s dedication in providing comprehensive health care to our citizens is an asset my patients really appreciate,” said Dr. Holm, who is a board certified family medicine physician.

The Overton Family Practice Center is affiliated with the Health Center and has been in Overton since August 2000. It is located at 116 E. South St.
