Board certified UTHCT cardiologist now seeing patients at Henderson Memorial Hospital in Henderson

James J. Galizia, MD, an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, is now seeing patients at Henderson Memorial Hospital, 300 Wilson St. in Henderson.

Dr. Galizia is a board-certified cardiologist with University Physician Associates and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and blood vessel diseases. UPA is a physician practice associated with UT Health Science Center.

Dr. Galizia is also board certified in internal medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

He completed cardiology fellowships at the University of Southern California and Yale University, Norwalk Hospital.

Dr. Galizia served his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College, where he also received his medical degree.

Dr. Galizia sees patients who have been referred to him by their primary care doctors. In addition, individuals seeking a cardiology consultation may call and make their own appointment.

Before coming to the Health Center in spring 2006, Dr. Galizia was in private practice in Long Island, NY.

He was associated with Austin Diagnostic Clinic in Austin, Texas, from 2001 to 2004 and with Shannon Clinic in San Angelo, Texas, from 1997 to 2001.

He also served as director of community health and wellness at the Shannon Health System from 1997 to 1999.
