Free UTHSCT-sponsored seminar on the heart set for Thursday, Feb. 28, at Gilmer National Bank in Gilmer

GILMER –Are you at risk for heart disease? How can you avoid developing heart problems as you grow older? What’s the best thing you can do to keep your heart healthy?

The answers to these and many other questions will be provided at “Your Heart: An Owner’s Workshop,” a free seminar scheduled for 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Gilmer National Bank, 900 N. Wood in Gilmer.

James Galizia, MD, will discuss the risk factors for heart disease and outline the most up-to-date information about the heart. He will offer tips on how to avoid developing heart disease.

Free screening for blood pressure and cholesterol will be available beginning at 9:30 a.m., with the presentation starting at 10 a.m.

The health education seminar is free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. Refreshments will be provided.
