If you’ve recently been diagnosed with diabetes, you need reliable and up-to-date information about the latest advances in diabetes care.
At the upcoming Empower Diabetes class at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, you can find answers to your questions.
A new Empower series of four free diabetes education sessions begins Tuesday, Jan. 26, in Hudnall Auditorium at UTHSCT, 11937 U.S. 271 in Tyler.
The goal of the Empower program is to teach you how to manage your diabetes. Each free session is offered from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on successive Tuesdays: Jan. 26, Feb. 2, Feb. 9, and Feb. 16.
Sessions cover different topics, including high and low blood sugar, meal planning, glucose monitoring, exercise and diabetes, medications and insulin administration, and foot care.
Pre-registration is recommended, and the deadline to register for this series of classes is 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21. For more information or to register, call (903) 877-7569.
