’Steps to Healthy Aging’ course set to begin Sept. 13 at First United Methodist Church of Lindale

LINDALE - A multi-week course designed to improve nutrition and physical activity in older adults kicks off at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the First United Methodist Church of Lindale, 402 W. Hubbard St.

"Steps to Healthy Aging" will help older adults get in shape and stay there. Each one-hour program held weekly for 12 weeks will feature short presentations from health-care professionals from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. They will talk about the importance of good nutrition and regular exercise in maintaining good health. The program is sponsored by UTHSCT’s Center for Healthy Aging.

The fee for the program is $10 for each person, which covers the cost of a pedometer, handouts, and incentives to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
