Medicare prescription drug program topic of Town Hall Meeting at TASCA Ornelas Activity Center

Wednesday, October 5, 2005

If you’re confused by the new Medicare prescription drug program set to begin next year, answers can be found at a free seminar from 10 a.m.-11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the TASCA Ornelas Activity Center, 3204 Old Omen Road in Tyler.

"Medicare Rx: Impact and Information" will describe how to sign up for the program, explain how the program affects seniors, discuss its cost, and outline when the different prescription drug plans will be available. The seminar, sponsored by The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, also will tell attendees where they can find more information about the plan.

Speakers will be Denise Clontz, of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, and Emily Taylor, of the Area Agency on Aging of East Texas.

Town Hall Meetings are educational sessions held on the second Tuesday of each month at the TASCA Ornelas Activity Center, which is operated by UT Health Science Center at Tyler. The sessions are designed to provide timely information on topics of interest to senior citizens.
