The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler :: Sublingual Immunotherapy
An alternative allergy therapy known as sublingual immunotherapy (allergy drops) is now available through the UT Health Science Center’s Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Clinic.
Allergies are now being treated safely and effectively without the use of hypodermic needles. Allergy drops you apply work similar to allergy shots, slowly desensitizing you to the substance that causes your allergic reactions. The difference is that the antigen is placed under your tongue with a dropper in a carefully measured liquid form. Not only are these prescribed allergy drops more convenient, research also shows they are safe and effective for people of all ages. The links on the right will provide you with all of the information you need to get started.
