The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler :: Sublingual Immunotherapy

An alternative allergy therapy known as sublingual immunotherapy (allergy drops) is available through the UT Health Northeast’s Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology Clinic.

Allergies are now being treated safely and effectively without the use of hypodermic needles. Allergy drops you apply work similar to allergy shots, slowly desensitizing you to the substance that causes your allergic reactions. The difference is that the antigen is placed under your tongue with a dropper in a carefully measured liquid form.

Not only are these prescribed allergy drops more convenient, research also shows they are safe and effective for allergy sufferers both young and old. Click on the links at the right to find out more about this alternative to allergy shots.
