As part of the world-renowned University of Texas System and the only academic medical center in our region, we have treated patients with cancer for over three decades. With the opening of our new Cancer Treatment and Prevention Center, we have brought together not only experienced cancer specialists and advanced technology, but patient comfort and convenience too – all under one roof.

Experienced Cancer Specialists
We have an amazing team of experts. Combined, they represent over 200 years of experience in the care of patients with cancer. Many have been trained and/or employed by our sister institution – The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Ultramodern Technology
The tools we use to fight cancer are the most advanced available, including our new four-dimensional CT scanner and ARIA®, a specialized oncology medical records system. ARIA® allows our care providers to have immediate access to patient information to better coordinate care.

The superstar is our Varian TrueBeam
A linear accelerator that represents the next generation of radiation therapy. This radically new cancer treatment is not only faster, but more powerful, precise, and accurate. If the TrueBeam is right for a patient’s particular cancer, treatment that typically takes 15 to 20 minutes can be completed in just 5 to 10 minutes - targeting the cancer and minimizing exposure to healthy tissue.

Advanced Specialty Care
Not only do our patients receive expert cancer care at UT Health Northeast, they also have access here to highly trained specialists in many other fields, including pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, gynecology, and urology – all at one location.

Telemedicine
Through the marvels of modern communications technology, telemedicine is bringing the world to UT Health Northeast. Our patients can be evaluated in real time by other specialists across the country, and our cancer experts can interact with their colleagues at other cancer centers as if they were meeting in the same room.

Patient Comfort and Convenience
Driving from one location to another and walking down never-ending hallways are the last things you want to do when you don’t feel well. At UT Health Northeast, your cancer doctors’ offices, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and lab and X-ray facilities are all within steps of the front entrance of the Cancer Treatment and Prevention Center. The serenity of the surroundings, the comfort of the chemotherapy chairs, and convenient valet parking were designed with our patients in mind. We’ll even provide a pager if you want to enjoy the beautiful gardens.

Many of our patients receive their diagnosis and treatment plan at other cancer centers, but choose to have their chemotherapy or radiation therapy with us – saving them time, energy, and money because they are able to stay close to home during their treatment.
