Infectious Disease Consultation HOTLINE available statewide to:

  • Home Health Care Providers
  • Other state supported sections or divisions having health-related components

What will the Infectious Disease HOTLINE provide?

  • Timely, toll free telephone consultation regarding patient management, isolation procedures and other issues relating to infectious diseases
  • A written summary of the verbal recommendations signed by the consultant and mailed to each caller. Letters can also be faxed if requested
  • Reference materials regarding the problem, when requested
  • No charge to physician or patient for consult

Consults can be obtained for all aspects of infectious disease, including:

  • Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
  • Penicillin-resistant pneumococcal infections
  • HIV infection and its complications
  • Sexually transmitted diseases
