THE CHOICE IN QUALITY CARE, RESEARCH AND EDUCATION
Ask any of the thousands of patients who come each year to The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler what they like about us, and you will hear overwhelmingly that it is the quality of care that brought them here.
People choose to come to The UT Health Science Center not only for the care they receive, but also because of the outstanding physicians and qualified nurses who have been recruited to practice at the Health Science Center from renowned treatment centers across the nation. Often patients self-refer to the Health Science Center in an effort to become involved in clinical research studies. WE’RE PART OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS SYSTEM
Since joining The University of Texas System in 1977, we have evolved into an acute care facility while expanding our research and education mission. During our association with the UT System, the Health Science Center has emerged as a regional health care facility for Texans needing specialists in such areas as adult and pediatric pulmonary disease, cardiology, primary care medicine, occupational medicine, sleep medicine, and oncology.
OUR HOSPITAL, CLINICS, AND SERVICES ARE ALL UNDER ONE ROOF
Many people see their physicians in one office, have their lab or diagnostic imaging tests in another building, and are admitted to a hospital when necessary at a third location. The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler has all of its clinics, services, and the hospital under one roof. We have 70 board-certified physicians in over 30 clinics and the latest in lab testing (pathology) and radiology, including a new state-of-the-art MRI. In 1996, there were over 140,000 outpatient clinic visits.
