 EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Masters in health education or public health preferred. Experience in lieu of education may be substituted on a one-for-one basis.
Experience:
Three years experience in initiating healthcare based education, educational design and curriculum development. Must have knowledge of public health practices and communicable and/or chronic diseases. Knowledge of tuberculosis preferred. Must remain current on educational theory and trends in order to introduce new methods of training. Requires excellent verbal, oral and written communications skills and the ability to work effectively with members of a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Director of Education and training, performs highly complex administrative duties to plan, develop, coordinate, participate in and evaluate all aspects of education and training provided by the Center and as such will require knowledge and experience in initiating health care based education, educational design and curriculum development and knowledge of public health, communicable diseases and Tuberculosis. Perform other related duties as assigned and as per job description.
THIS POSITION IS GRANT FUNDED BY THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL (CDC) AND LOCATED AT THE TEXAS CENTER FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASE IN THE HEARTLAND NATIONAL TB CENTER IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS.
