Andrew Schmitt, PhD is a neuropsychologist who has many years of experience helping patients lead productive and happy lives. Dr. Schmitt’s area of expertise is in neuropsychological assessment, a type of psychological testing that typically focuses on the measurement of cognitive abilities and/or cognitive impairment. He also has experience with the assessment of traumatic brain injury, stroke, ADHD, and depression. The main focus of Dr. Schmitt’s patient care and research is the diagnosis and study of dementia, particularly Alzheimer’s disease. By helping patients understand their condition, his patients and their families are better equipped to cope with the illness and seek appropriate treatment. Dr. Schmitt sees patients in the Joseph Z. and Louise H. Ornelas Center for Healthy Aging.
