Katherine Kerr, MD, FAAP

Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dr. Kerr believes in caring for the whole person, both physically and mentally. “I firmly believe that physical and mental health are closely linked, and both must be considered in any treatment plan. I also believe that taking care of patients is a team effort, and the provider, patient and family all have important roles.”

“I have always known that I wanted to work with children in some capacity, but it wasn’t until college that I discovered the unique challenge of science and medicine. Healthcare seemed like the perfect combination of both my passion and the opportunity to continue to learn and grow through my career.”

Dr. Kerr’s special areas of interest include treating attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), early childhood mental health, mental health treatment in primary care and college mental health. She enjoys watching Texas Longhorn football, volunteering, knitting, and crocheting.
