What I like most about UTHSCT:

I’m a local. This is the “big city” in this part of Texas. It has doubled in size during my lifetime with fun changes every few years. There is a great green belt (Rose Rudman) with a >3 mile trail being continually improved upon downtown. A medical school is coming very soon and new residency programs are coming, with 20 new internal medicine residents that started in 2020. This is a good time to start, train and get to be a part of a great city!

Professional Interests:

I’m interested in intensive outpatient, viewing many forms of mental illness as a lifetime process and helping family units work to improve their relationships and ability to manage stresses cased by mental illness in their loved one. I have a particular current interest in working to get patients physically active as a permanent part of their personal health and wellbeing.

Strength training, educational computer programs to help patients and other doctors, learning about the history of psychiatry and spending time with my family.
