What I like most about UTHSCT:
I’m a local. This is the “big city” in this part of Texas. It has doubled in size during my lifetime with fun changes every few years. There is a great green belt (Rose Rudman) with a >3 mile trail being continually improved upon downtown. A medical school is coming very soon and new residency programs are coming, with 20 new internal medicine residents that started in 2020. This is a good time to start, train and get to be a part of a great city!
Professional Interests:I’m interested in intensive outpatient, viewing many forms of mental illness as a lifetime process and helping family units work to improve their relationships and ability to manage stresses cased by mental illness in their loved one. I have a particular current interest in working to get patients physically active as a permanent part of their personal health and wellbeing.
Hobbies: Strength training, educational computer programs to help patients and other doctors, learning about the history of psychiatry and spending time with my family.
