Mariam Qazi was born and raised in Portland, Maine and graduated from Wellesley College in Massachusetts with a degree in political science. After completing her pre-med post-baccalaureate requirements at The University of Southern Maine, Mariam attended the University Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) in San Antonio, Texas, for medical school and decided she preferred the warmer Texas weather for her residency training. She enjoys inpatient hospital medicine and has a particular interest in cardiology and hopes to follow in the footsteps of her two sisters. Outside of medicine, she enjoys stand-up paddleboarding, longboarding (on land), playing pickup basketball, spending time with her two cats in Tyler (Gizmo and Betty White), and spending time with family and friends, especially with her two new nephews.
