Why UT Athens? My hometown of Boyd, TX was a medically underserved area where you had to drive far for healthcare. This lack of access to healthcare was a driving force in my desire to pursue a career in rural medicine. I continued my passion for rural and underserved health care throughout medical school working at St. Vincent’s, with the homeless populations, and being a part of UTMB’s public health organization. Being an unopposed, full spectrum training program that also works in the community made UT Athens an ideal program that will allow me to accomplish my goal of being a rural physician.

Career Goals: Full scope family medicine with an emphasis on psych in the primary setting, fellowship in sleep medicine and obstetrics.
