I am Payaam Mahdavian from the sunny town of Pleasant Hill, California. I enjoy every bit of medicine. To me, the world of internal medicine is a game of probabilities. It's not always black or white, but a lot of grey. I enjoy complexity of the diagnostic puzzles while having the opportunity to help my patient's meet their health care goals and give them the strength to take control of their illness.

The city of Tyler is full of gems. When I’m not working, I enjoy exercising and exploring the many eateries and live music scenes peppered around town. The program here provides an excellent work-life balance with an outstanding team of knowledgeable, talented and compassionate educators ready to train the next generation of physicians. Given our hospital network's location, we serve a greater portion of Eastern Texas population and have the opportunity to grow immensely with the unique cases that come our way.
