Thank you for your interest in the Gastroenterology Fellowship at the UT Tyler School of Medicine. Our first year of fellowship started in July 2023.

We aim to train and educate clinical professionals to become leaders and mentors in the ever so rewarding field of Gastroenterology Medicine. The fellowship is structured to have the fellows rotate through various aspects at UT Health Tyler, UT Health North Campus Tyler and UT Health Athens.

The program is part of a large academic institution.  Thus, fellows will have ample opportunity to teach residents and medical students throughout the academic year.

“Our mission of the Gastroenterology Fellowship program is to develop future leaders in Gastrointestinal Disease Care for the East Texas community, primarily through advanced and systematic education of fellows and faculty.  This program is focused on caring for all levels of gastrointestinal care in the community with a goal to always be the preferred reference service for treatment of gastrointestinal disorders in the East Texas region. This mission also includes expanding levels of complexity within our specialty and through cross training with other services to achieve excellent care within our community at large. This will provide the opportunity for fellows in training to obtain the expertise required in knowledge, research and service. The fellowship program also provides a space for faculty to grow as educators and caregivers, improving the quality of service delivered.”

We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Bolarinwa F. Olusola, MD
