Application and Interview Day Information

All residency applicants must apply through ERAS only, and all positions will be filled only through the NRMP. Only applications submitted through ERAS will be reviewed. Applications will be reviewed from Sept. 27, 2023 through the deadline of Dec. 31, 2023. All invitations to interview will be sent by Jan. 4, 2024. Due to an anticipated high volume of residency applications, if candidates are not selected for an interview, they will not be contacted.

All interviews this year will be conducted virtually via video conferencing and not in person. Interviews will be conducted on Tuesday and Friday afternoons during the interview season as follows:

The virtual interview day will be conducted via video conference and supplemented by additional informational materials provided to invited applicants in advance of the interview day along with materials available for review on the program website, including a virtual tour experience. The virtual interview day will begin at 12 p.m. and will include a program overview, question and answer time with residency program leadership and residents, one faculty interview and one interview with the program director. The virtual interview day will conclude by 5 p.m.

Selection Guidelines

The following guidelines are used by the Residency Selection Committee to identify applicants to be interviewed and considered for final eligibility and ranking for appointment:

  • Graduate of an accredited LCME/AOA medical school.
  • Passing USMLE Step 1 and/or COMLEX Level 1 score is required for U.S. and international
    graduates with application submission (transcript required).
  • ECFMG certification is required with application submission for international graduates.
  • Medical School Performance Evaluation is required.
  • Two letters of recommendation are required from faculty with whom the applicant has
    worked closely. A third letter of recommendation is optional and encouraged, but not
    required.
  • Submission of a curriculum vitae is required.
  • Personal statement submission is  required.
  • Must be able to complete three years of residency training in the categorical program.
  • Must be able to meet all requirements and assume all responsibilities of training on the
    specified date of contract; all appointees must report for orientation during the last two
    weeks of June.
  • Must have current ACLS certification before start date and maintain current status
    throughout time of training.
  • Institution does sponsor J1 Visas but not sponsor H1B or other Visas.
