What is TIOSH®
The Texas Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (TIOSH®) is the occupational and environmental medicine program of The University of Texas at Tyler Health 
Science Center (HSC). The clinic is located within the Riter Center at UT Health North Campus Tyler. TIOSH® was created to offer a total program concept to assist companies and their employees in meeting the goal of a safer and healthier workplace. By design, TIOSH® maintains UT Tyler Health Science Center’s three-pronged mission, which is to provide patient care and to conduct education and research. Our team consists of experts from the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences within the School of Health Professions, the Occupational Medicine Clinic and the Occupational Medicine Residency Program.
TIOSH® not only emphasizes occupational medicine from the diagnostic and therapeutic standpoints, but also promotes occupational health from the classic safety as well as preventive approaches. TIOSH® plays a critical consultative role in policy development for the industry and fulfills a variety of educational and training needs.
The Occupational Health Clinic is a member of the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC). AOEC is a national network of clinical facilities dedicated to research and education as well as the prevention and treatment of occupational/environmental diseases.

- Pure tone audiometry (meeting Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA] standards).
- Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation-certified technicians.
- DOT and non-DOT drug screen collection.
- DOT and non-DOT breath alcohol testing.
- Respirator-clearance evaluations.
- Respirator-fit testing.
- Chest X-ray.
